Defend the view that technology has been either good or bad for the TV industry.
I personally think that technology in the TV industry as had a negative effect.
Convergence is the joining of two texts onto one device, for example, Xbox 360 has now given you the opportunity to watch tele on the device through BBC Iplayer and 4OD. Therefore, questioning the necessity of a television, making costumers think of alternative ways of watching television without the use of a tele. Even though a television is still used to play consoles, there are also alternatives to these as well, such as computer screens and projectors. This has therefore created a fragmented market for televisions.

Media Work (Advert)
So far in Media I have created a script for the advert my group intends to do for energy drinks, aiming towards everyday people who enjoy sport. We have decided to do two adverts as the lengh of the adverts will not reach the 2 minute requiremnt. Additionally, a storyboard has been created to allow my group to visually see my thoughs and ideas in order to remeber and adape these processes. Last of all we have nominated each other tasks Im in charge of editing, whilist Leroy is incharge of sounds and lighting and Ben is the filmer.

Representations In Homeland
The first character you see is Carrie, she isn't the typical women in action movies, she seems very determined and focused on what she is doing. I feel that a scene which really signifies her dominance and determination is when she pushes away the body guard. This really signifies strength and the willingness to look after herself. Additionally, there is a seen in which she is getting dressed. Usually in action movies the girls take care in there appearance, however, she is rushing, pulling of her clothes and throwing more on, with little consideration to what she looks like. The last thing that signifies Carrie being a counter type is when she takes some pills. Her wet hair gets caught in her face, which makes her seem unattractive and puts the audience off, I feel this is key in representing her character.David is another representation of Gender but this time is a typical one. He is the most dominant character and what he says goes. This is a typical stereotype of males throughout films and T.V series. However, David is black, and for a character of his race it's unusual to see his as the 'top dog', and on top of everything. In many films and T.V series the person on top of everything and in charge is usually a white males who is well spoken and respected. However, to see a black person in this position is not only unusual but refreshing to see something different.

At the start of the program 'Skins' is a close up of the main character Tony, this camera shot is used to show the emotions of his character. Then, there is a birds eye view shot which zooms out, this allows the audience to discover his room, this also allows the audince to learn more about the character. His bed sheet is two naked people lying down, this shows that he could be slightly sexually frustrated. Also, the fact that he works out in his pants and he poses in the mirror, this shows that he is vain. You then see that his shirts are neatly folded up, this is a counter stereotype of a teenage because they are commonly known to be messy and tidy.

Analyse the front covers for both GQ and Saga magazines commenting on visual codes, layout and design and languange and mode of address
In these magazines the main visual code is two old aged celebrities 'Micheal Caine' and 'Clint Eastwood.' This is an unusual aspect because normally on magazines you see young models on the front that are glamorous and good looking, you don't usually see older aged people because no one likes the thought of getting old so why would they want to see old people on a magazine? In the Saga magazine is Michael Caine (a very famous actor who has appeared in films such as Harry Brown) standing in front of a white background, this lightens the whole image and shows Micheal Caine as a innocent character. He is talking about crime and how old people are to scared to leave their own house because of it, as he is famous many people look up to him as a role model type of figure, especially people of his age.
In GQ magazine the main visual code is a image of Clint Eastwood sitting on a stool. His facial expression makes him look quite mean and menacing, compared to Michael Caine in the Sage Magazine who looks kind and innocent. Clint Eastwood is in front of a dark grey background colour which makes him look as if he is slightly evil, compared to Micheal Caine who has a white background is which portrays him as being innocent. These two celebrities are complete opposites, the only thing that is similar about them is there age and how they don't care what age they are.
The layout and design are both very similar for both of these magazines. They both include an old aged celebrity as there main images and have suibtitles explaining a part of what they are on the cover for, for example Clint Eastwood got 'BADASS OF THE YEAR' and Micheal Caine is saying 'There was crime when I ws growing up, but I don't remeber old people being terified to go out.' Both of these magazines also have small subtitles which give you information asbout other pages in the magazine such as 'Christmas is coming' and 'this years obsession.'

Explore rpesentations of issues in "Breaking Bad"
In Breaking Bad there are many representations such as cancer, drug taking, murder, disability and race.
Breaking Bad is about a man called Walter, he's a chemistry teacher who has a pregnant wife and a disabled kid suffering from cerebral palsy. However, things turn for the worst as he finds out he has cancer and only has three more years to live. Walter decides to cook crystal using his chemistry skill and sells it for money so that he can support his wife, his soon to be new born and his son after he had gone.
One representation in Breaking Bad is cancer. This is clear to the audience that he has cancer because it's a typical representation of how people are told they have cancer, they have a one on one with the Doctor in which they make sure the patient is okay with what they have found out and understand it as well. It is evident that Walter is shock and surprised because the camera goes into a point of view shot which is blurred. The realisation hits home for Walter now knowing that he has only a few more years left to live, this helps the audience connect with Walter and feel sorry for him. You can clearly tell that this news has hit Walter hard when he is at the Car Wash. This is a small job he does to make a little extra money for him family, however, the shock of his new illness leads him to quit in a rage of anger.
Walter junior suffers from cerebral palsy, Breaking Bad represents him as being a disabled child that can't really stick up for himself due to his illness, this is evident when they are in the clothes shop and a group are mocking him because he can't pull his trousers up without assistance, his dad has to stand up for him which show Walter JR to be relatively weak and scared. However, In Breaking Bad there are also glimpses of disabled people being able to do many things that a abled body person could do like taking drugs, even though he doesn't take drugs his family become very suspicious of him.

The Walking Dead
Suggest two ways in which men and women have been represented?
Lori and Shane
In this film Shane is the leader of the camp, he does most of the work like collecting the wood and making sure no zombies attack. He also tells everyone what to do and how to do it. He is also the father like figure to lori's son. Lori is represented as needed someone to look after her and her son, she is also seen as heartless because she is having an affair with Shane whilst she is unsure that her husband 'rick' is dead, this also shows that she needs someone to comfort her.
Merl
Merl is described as being a white American red neck from southern America. You can tell h is a red neck by the way he dresses and also he is racist as southern America do not believe in black peoples rights. He is also represented as being violent because he is shooting zombies off the top of a roof and getting a great deal of pleasure from it.
